We understand how hard it is to work your camera on manual mode for the first time and we also understand how scary it can feel stepping out at night alone to achieve that great photograph you have always wanted to achieve.
Founder, Katrina Frazer understands most of the worries you all face in this world of photography as you battle with all the settings, locations and safety to achieve the perfect shot. Katrina understand all of these worries because Katrina is a freelance photographer in London City.

Things to plan before your tour starts:
•Tours do not start and end in the same location.
•Check camera battery and gear (inc tripod, lenses, memory cards) is working, charged and ready to shoot.
•Loose and comfortable clothing is recommended with suitable shoes and please remember we are by the river and it can
get quite cold so a jacket and jumper is advised to counteract the Great British weather.

What if I have never taken a photograph at night before?
Our tours provide a learning experience for participants to familiarise themselves with the manual settings. With
our help and tips at the beginning of the tour, you will learn in two hours how to achieve the kind of shots that you have dreamt of taking but did not quite know what buttons to use and settings to follow. You will leave us feeling comfortable and motivated to go out and shoot by yourself and achieve perfect images that have that 'wow' factor.
How long is the tour?
Both night time tours are approximately 2 hours long. The combined night time tour is 3.5 hours. The day time tours are 3 hours
long. While some tours are 3 to 5 days.
What is the average group size?
The average size of a group can be around 15 or sometimes smaller. We try to keep group sizes small to enhance your learning experience.
Do I have to have a camera to join the tour?
Yes, this tour is based on photography (i fou do not have a camera, have do have DLSR's for hire, please contact us for information. Tours are able to show you how to take your camera off automatic setting and gives you a taste of manual shooting.
What should I bring with me on the tour?
Please bring a tripod and of course, your camera (with a full battery and spare if you have one). Along
with any lenses, this tour is best suited to a 18/55 lens. A 70/300 does not really work for this tour. Wide angles and prime lens
are good too.
Do I need to bring a tripod or is a monopod ok?
Unfortunately a monopod is unsuitable for night time tours as we will be set at low shutter speeds and a monopod will add camera shake to the photographs. Tripods are best if you are interested in trying to achieve the photography we have in our gallery. Tripods
are not needed for day time tours.However, if you are planning on using filters then feel free to bring tripod or
monopod for day time tours.
What kind of camera should I bring on the tour?
You can bring any make of camera on the tour as long as it has a manual setting option. DLSR are preferred for the tours. However, point and shoot /some compacs are also suitable if they are able to manipulate the stutter speed, F.stops and ISO. If you are unsure whether your camera has this setting please feel free to contact us via our ‘contacts and bookings’ page with your make and Model number of your camera and we will let you know if your camera is suitable.
What happens if it rains or snows?
We normally tour in light rain, or wind, the tour will go on. However if heavy rain is predicted/falls on the day of your tour we may have cancel the tour, any rain perdicted to last for more than a hour of the tour will be deemed as unsuitable to tour. Please bring your Camera rain cover and large umbrella just in case we have light showers. For snow, please keep Camera batteries in an inside pocket while travelling to the tour, we do offer particpants the right to pull out of tour during any snowfall. Also, please keep in mind that although it can be warm in the day,night time can become quite cold so please wrap up warmly in all seasons! Please see our Terms&Conditions page for more information.
What about taking children on the tour?
The tour is best suited for children aged 10 and up, who are interested in photography as our tours will include lots of
conversations involving shutter speeds and F.stops and other photographic terminology.(Children must be supervised by a paying
adult and children pay the same price as adults).
How do I purchase ticket?
Tickets can be purchased Via the paypal box on the ‘contacts and bookings' page for tours. Short breaks first require youto contact us via the ‘contacts and bookings’ page.
How do I cancel my tour and re-book?
Please give photographytoursatnight a call or email to change your tour with more than 48 hours’notice and we will book you in for a
new tour date. Cancellations / re-bookings cannot be made on the same day of the tour. Money will not be refunded for late cancellations and We do not refund money once a tour or online course has been booked.
•Photographytouratnight reserves the right to change the tour route in response to
events that would require a change of route. Photographytoursatnight assumes no
liability for traffic conditions, street closures, lost property or injuries and cannot be
responsible for the acts of people on the street or your crossing the road.
